Description:
The video captures a continuous panning shot of a house in progressive stages of collapse. It moves from the initial depiction of the solid, pentagonal structure to the final frame where the ruined form dissolves into the horizon, before the pan reverses in a “ping-pong” loop animation. The piece was created by digitalizing an extensive series of intaglio prints from the Outside In cycle (2005). These graphic prints, which record the additive-reductive process of scratching and etching the plate, are connected into an uninterrupted horizontal format. The continuous back-and-forth movement of the image blurs the boundary between destruction and creation, transforming a static analogue image into a digital temporal continuum. This visual rhythm of collapse and reconstruction functions as a metaphor for the fragility of memory, transience, and the perpetual transformation of the space we call home.
