The workshop “Cres through Artistic Interventions” by prof. Nadija Mustapić, MFA was based on an experiential walk through Cres, aiming to develop a sharper spatial perception through movement. Participants explored the town as flâneurs—that is, individuals who wander the city aimlessly, experiencing it with all their senses, creating new interpretations and imaginations of the space. During the walk, they recorded their experiences, and afterwards, based on the collected materials (photographs, sound recordings, and texts), they mapped an alternative ‘map’ reflecting their personal psychogeographies.
The final, collective product of the workshop took the form of a booklet documenting the artistic process, serving both as a record and an inspiration for further creation of alternative maps and other innovative forms of spatial visualization.
